Recently, OpenAI has introduced “SearchGPT,” a prototype that enhances the search experience by integrating the capabilities of ChatGPT with real-time web data. This allows users to ask questions in a conversational manner and receive answers with clear citations from credible sources. When using SearchGPT, users can ask follow-up questions, and the context from previous queries is maintained to improve the relevance of subsequent responses.
However, if you are not luckly enough, you would be on the waitlist…
Now, the waiting is over! Here are the steps to try it out by yourself:
- Open “Google Chrome”
- Go to “Settings”, then selete “Search Engine” on the left navigation panel
- Expand the main panel and find “Site Search”
- Add a new site search with
Name "GPT Search", Shortcut: @gpt, URL: https://www.chatgpt.com/?hints=search&q=%s
5. You can set the “GPT Search” as the default search engine for the Chrome browser. Or, you can first type @gpt (or gpt) followed by a space, then type your search query to try it out.
Now, enjoy your search with ChatGPT!
